Hot Tub and Gardens
How Bank’s Hot Tub is available all year for our guests to enjoy. It is maintained to the highest standard by our hot tub team. They change the water at the start of every stay and check it every day.
How Bank is surrounded on three sides by its beautiful gardens tended lovingly by our wonderful gardeners. Patios, lawns, bordering Stock Ghyll Beck for total tranquility during your stay.

Fully equipped kitchen
How Bank’s kitchen is fully equipped to make delicious home cooked meals. Induction hob, two ovens and nespresso coffee machine. Royal Worcester crockery, Robert Walsh cutlery and a selection of Joseph, Joseph items and many kitchen gadgets to name a few amenities.

Luxury beds and bed linen
How Bank’s three bedroooms can be configured as three double rooms or six individual beds. The two bigger bedrooms can be either superking or twin rooms. The third bedroom has a bunk bed with a small double on the bottom and a full-sized single on top. We also have two travel cots, allowing us to accomodate a wide range of groups.

Entertainment
How Bank has two living rooms with plenty of space for our guests. The main living room has a 65″ Samsung TV and linked surround sound system with Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime and other standard inbuilt apps. The second living room has a 55″ Samsung TV, PS4 and WiiU. There are also a large selection of board games, books and a puppet show to amuse younger guests.

Luxury bathrooms
How Bank’s bathroom and ensuite shower room have been recently refurbished to provide luxury experiences. The showers have hansgrohe controls with rain shower, directed overhead shower and handheld showers. The bathroom has a freestanding bath with waterfall tap. Each has a washlet toilet. There is a further cloakroom conveniently located on the ground floor.

Luxury bedrooms and bathrooms
How Bank can accomodate up to six guests in its three bedrooms. We have two double bedrooms that can be set up as either superking or twin rooms. Our third bedroom provides flexible sleeping options as a bunk bed with a small double on the bottom and a full-size single on top.
Our luxury bathroom has a separate shower cubicle, luxurious free-standing bath, large sink and a washlet toilet. The ensuite shower room has a shower cubicle, sink and washlet toilet.
Beautiful hot tub and wonderfully maintained gardens
Our hot tub is always a firm favourite of all our guests. It is available for use all year round and is under a roof so it can be used whatever the weather. The extensive gardens on three sides of How Bank have numerous patios and levels with outdoor dining and seating options available.
Spacious luxury living accomodation
How Bank has two living rooms and a large kitchen dining room. There is plenty of seating for all guests in the main living room that has a 65″ TV and surround sound system. This room has windows on all four sides with views to Loughrigg, Stock Ghyll beck, the river that runs alongside How Bank and our own gardens. The second living room looks onto the front of the house and Loughrigg. It has a 55″ TV and attached games consoles.
How Bank’s kitchen is well equipped to make delicious home cooked meals with many kitchen gadgets and beautiful crockery and cutlery. The large dining table and leather padded chairs make for an enjoyable dining experience. We have a nespresso coffee machine for coffee drinkers.

Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of group can How Bank accomodate?
We set How Bank up with the objective of appealing to as wide a range of groups as possible. Our two bigger bedrooms can be set up as either superking rooms or twin rooms. Our third bedroom is a bunk bed with a small double on the bottom and a full-sized single on top. So we can set up as three doubles (including the small double bottom bunk) or six beds. We also have two travel cots and mattresses for infants. We can also accomodate an extra child if three children were to use the third bedroom, two sharing the small double bottom bunk.
How much does it cost to rent How Bank?
The rental cost of How Bank varies depending on the time of year. The costs for stays can be seen by selecting dates on the calendar on our booking page to display the total price for any stay.
What are the days I can start and end my stay?
We can accomodate stays starting on any week day. We cannot accomodate stays starting or ending on a Saturday. We can do Sunday check out during low season (from November to February excluding the Christmas and New Year periods) or at the end of school holidays. We can’t accomodate arrivals on a Sunday.
What is the minimum length of stay?
We have a minimum length of stay of three nights from March to October. We offer two night stays between November and February. For weekend stays of two nights between November and February, our Sunday checkout time is extended to 5pm.

How do you handle payment?
We offer credit and debit card payment via Stripe or bank transfer.
Can I bring my pet on my holiday to How Bank?
No, we are very sorry but we do not accept guests’ pets at How Bank. Please note though that we do not guarantee an environment free of pet allergens.
What are the check in and check out times?
Our standard check in time is 4pm and check out is at 10am.
